Hi everyone,
My name is Alex and I am from NW Ohio. I am not completely new to snowboarding but I have not done it for about 7 years. And when I did do it I wasn't great at it. My girlfriend skis and wanted me to join her on the slopes so I am. I have a few questions, maybe someone could answer any of them or point me in the direction to get them answered. The current board I have is a Vision 154, I havent seen it since high school and it was rusting on the edges then, so I guessing it's probably worse now, I won't know how it looks until I pick it up this weekend from my parents house. I know you can clean some of the rust off, but at one point is it not worth it? Also, my cat ate my bindings (not completely) for some reason he must have thought they tasted good. So I will be buying new bindings. Should I also just get a new board or should I stick this season out on the Vision board (I have some money for a new board and I kind of wanted one but wasn't sure what to get if I did get one). I am 5'9'' 170 lbs with a size 11 boot, will the 154 be an ok size? My last question is this, there is a guy around here selling a snowboard. He says its a Burton Mountain Dew edition he said he won it. Here is the link to it. Danny Davis’ Favorite Things Giveaway Winner! – Shayboarder.com Is it a legit burton board, and does anyone know what model it is? He said he'd sell it to me for $180. I spent about and 2 hours on the internet looking for more info but couldn't find anything real relevant.you guys got anything on it? Thanks guys, I look forward to being part of the forum! |

About your rust, If you take it to a shop that does a tune up for you they can run it through a machine that will remove most of the rust when they sharpen the edge ect. Last edited by uninc.mike; 11-09-2011 at 06:44 PM. Reason: forgot something |

Hey mike, thanks for the advice. I actually just ended up putting together a tuning kit and took care of all of it myself. I figure I might as well save the cash and get some practice doing some tuning on a cheap board so when I upgrade I can maintain a more expensive one. |
