Hey all,
I'm Nick, I'm 23, I live in Brisbane, Aus (which for those playing at home, is about 22hour drive to the closest aus snowfields). I like surfing, bodyboarding, cars, motorbikes, sneakers and golf. I'm on the forums because it helps me (or makes it worse) when missing the snow. My snowboarding background started when I was 16 going to a Mt Hotham in Victoria with school. I planned to do a season in Mt Hood when I was 19, just after first year uni (college), but my visa came way too late for me to get it all off the ground (big waste of time and money). A year and a bit later a couple of mates asked if I wanted to do a season in Whistler, which ended up being the best thing I've ever done with my life. Unfortunately I only did Nov-Feb in the 06/07 season as I had to come back for uni. I fell in love with riding and really improved on that trip and loved everything Whistler had to offer, except overpriced, overcrowded workers accomodation. This year I went to NZ with my partner and a few friends, stayed in Queenstown for a week and rode everyday of the 6 days we were there. My next plans are maybe for a quick trip to Japan in Feb/March next year, do some couch surfing next Aus winter with some friends who live about 2 hrs from some resorts and hopefully fit in a pro-ride camp in Whistler in December '09 as part of a world trip. I'm very comfortable riding down black runs and through trees, I can pass most people on the mountain with ease. I really want to work on my switch riding and get some park skills up over my next trips. Look forward to learning a lot on the forums and chatting about our adventures, maybe even catch up for a beer when I'm in your area. Wow, sorry for the essay, I guess it shows I'm in too deep with this. Peace. |
