Default Conditions as Marmot?

Anyone been lately? I'll be out there next weekend so wondering how the conditions are.

Just far away from everywhere.

Really fun hill though.

Actual info!

Marmot is in decent, but not great condition. There is plenty of snow on all the groomers and acceptable coverage on the ungroomed lower mountain runs, but as you go further up the conditions get sketchier. There are large patches on the upper black and double-black runs of ice and exposed rock. Most of the mountain was open today, but there are some runs roped off - I assume because of poor conditions. For example, everything to the right when you get off the Eagle Ridge quad was closed this morning. There is visibly less snow than Marmot would normally have in Feb, but the hill is mostly rideable. Both terrain parks are operating with a good (for Marmot) number of features.

It was pretty quiet today, but everyone I spoke to was anticipating big crowds for the holiday weekend.

Post-holiday conditions update:

Marmot was in decent condition until the holiday crowds poured in on Sunday and just wrecked the place. Sunday morning was a total shit-show as high winds shut down the entire upper mountain and forced everyone to (very slowly) lap the Eagle quad or Schoolhouse. I'd have been upset if Friday/Saturday riding hadn't been so good. Marmot had a real problem with high winds this week. Even though it snowed a bit, the wind was stripping it off the upper mountain faster than it was being deposited. Anywhere on the upper mountain that's particularly exposed is a minefield of exposed rocks.

Knob actually seems to be doing a little better than elsewhere on the upper mountain. Still a lot of rocks, but the main bowl had decent snow depth.

Chalet slope off the Eagle Ridge quad is in the worst shape of anything on the mountain. It was closed when I first got there, but eventually they opened it up with a bunch of "don't come crying to us if you fuck up your board..." signs. It's a rock garden at the moment, but the snow is getting tracked out a little slower since few people are willing to risk the rocks.

Paradise chair seems to be the place to hang out when the crowds are bad. Even when there were huge lineups for C-REX and Eagle Ridge, I never waited in line for more than a minute to get on Paradise. The blacks on that side of the mountain also seem to see less traffic.

Also, is it just me or are they grooming a lot more runs this year? It looked to me like they were grooming blacks that are normally left to mogul up. For example, Spillway and Dromedary are groomed now. I'd swear they were ungroomed last year, and they're on the map as mogul runs. Not sure if this is a permanent thing or just to cope with this year's poor conditions.
