Fernie - I am going end of Jan----ish

So I have decided to venture out of my little snowboarding bubble here at White Water and head over to Fernie to check it out. I am going to stay with my bro in Kimberly and just make the drive out everyday. I am going to go for 3 days for sure maybe four depending on how I can time things. With never being there before I was hoping some people might hook me up with some tips on what runs I should be checking out and if there are chairs worth lapping over and over. I like to find some good lines that I can lap over and over rather than do a little all over the mountain. If I do go 4 days I can hopefully check out at least a couple of the bowls. So give me what you guys got!

Group of us from work are going to be there from the 24-26 I believe.

Only been there the once, so also interested in what people recommend.

O rly? Maybe I could make that weekend as well.... nothing really set in stone for me. I have a ton of time banked for time off this winter which I can generally take as I please.

I think some of us might try to make it to Revy the weekend before (18-19).

Just got back to the hotel from a day at Fernie. Conditions aren't great right now. They've had a bit of snow recently, but it's sitting on an icy base. Unreal winds once you got above the lower mountain that created white-out conditions and completely stripped all the loose snow off every unsheltered slope. The hill was okay for a couple of hours after opening, but by about noon the crowds, wind, and ice made it very sketchy.

Well that is sad and depressing.

Probably just takes 1 storm system to reset everything, let's hope that happens on the way down there.

Am here right now, previous comments are correct, girlfriend and I are wishing we stayed at castle. She slipped out on some ice on a very busy run and got whiplash and minor concussion. Consequently we decided to take the day off and recover for whitefish tomorrow. What can you do though we are at the whim of the snow gods!
Also, if you have a trip already planned and would like to save some $$$ since we are not riding our last day here we have two passes for sale. They are air miles redeemed not the costco ones so you can use them whenever and do not have to be used together. Pm me if you'd like to buy them as lift tickets here are pretty expensive ($89 plus tax)

My plans are not concrete yet, but if I do end up going and you still have them I'll hit you up and take them off your hands as myself and a buddy are going. I do imagine if there is a good storm Fernie can be epic.
