Default Whistler Conditions

How are things looking up at whistler? I'm going up in two weeks, it seems like there's been less snowfall than usual.

the webside says 7000 acres open but they have more than that, what's still closed?

Conditions are getting better... Pray for snow though... We have way less than normal. That being said, conditions are much better than many other places - the whole west coast is hurting for snow.

As for "missing terrain", it's most of the lower-mountain trails (whistler and blackcomb), and the peak to creek area (whistler).

Was up on Friday and got treated with a glorious pow day... 27cm in 2 days, and the peak was shut the first day of the storm. Man... Had a hoot

Been in Whis since the beginning of the season and it has been pretty bad so far. It is riding much better than a place that has barely had any snow should but we desperately need snow. In the 55+ days it has been open there has only been "powder" three times and even then it wasn't exactly knee deep. So i would say it has to get better and there is snow forecast but oh boy we've seen 25cm forecast turned to nothing in the space of a few hours so let's just pray!

Hardpack, warm, mostly bluebird... feels like April, not January. Might be some snow later this week but I doubt it'll be more than a dust. It's a cruiser/park kinda condish right now.

I'd be bummed if I had a grand trip planned and this is what's waiting for me. There might be some places that are doing better, but I don't know if there's anywhere out west that's actually doing good.

Sorry bout the bummer vibes anyway. I should be there on the weekend anyway. Seeya there!

Yup. Hardpack, slushy, icy. Funny to say in almost Feb, but bring a rock board if you want to be adventorous...

At least there is snow forecast for Tue and Wed (bout 16cm total) and a temperature drop.. so at least it should improve. Who knows, it may be not so bad next week.

The Web Cams post a pretty picture. Looks like some nice fresh in the past few days. Anyone there with their deck on the snow? What's the word?

Check the "Vancouver 2014" thread for some more comments about Whistler.

They had 35cm new today and it was reasonably sunny, so possibly a pretty perfect day... it's likely to snow all week and into next week as well, so conditions should continue on the awesome side.
