Default Whistler Advice / Rental Recommendations

Hey,

Me and the fella are getting married in late March and are coming out to Whistler for 10 days as part of our honeymoon. Literally can't wait

We're gonna be staying in Summit Lodge and I'm beginning to look at rental possibilities. We both have our own boots n helmets but need to rent boards - on first look options seem a little bit limited/quite expensive?

We're both tall guys at 6'1 and 6'2 respectively and the other half has US13 feet, so looking for 160/161 for me and 161w/162w for him - all mountain (defo more freeride than freestyle) boards.

Any suggestions of good rental shops?

Also any tips on Whistler/Blackcomb generally would be ace!

Congratulations!

Only been there during the summer, I've rented DH bikes from Summit Sport a couple of times. Not sure about their board prices, but for bikes they were the best deal IMHO.

Everything will be expensive. Moguls does a decent latte (by north American standards), if anyone knows of a better place I would really appreciate knowing too.

congrats!

afaik, you can get some decent gear from spicy. looks like they have k2 turbo dreams in your size - about $150 for the week. looks about the same at affinity, or through whistler (burton).

alternatively, you can also get gear in van or squamish - might be cheaper, and maybe more selection... urban alpine is a place that comes to mind.

let me know when you're up - if the timing is right, i might be able to show you around or at least give you some tips.

Thanks guys, and massive apologies for slow reply. Who'd've thought that planning a wedding would be so time consuming!

Oh by the way, since you're staying at summit, hop downstairs and get rentals from Underground Tuning - they've got primo rentals, and good prices from what I recall. They're just in the basement of summit lodge.

By the way - if you want, and the timelines work out, I could maybe swing up with my camera gear and take some shots for you

Sweet - I'll have a look into them, at the mo thinking of going through Summit as they have GT Machetes in 160 and 161W. I've sent em an email to check on which bindings they do tho.
