Best it's probably been since all the snow they got around opening week.

Snow report seems generous, but their mountain weather guy is usually pretty spot on.

Try and hit Castle on the way up, serious business.

In my opinion, hands down. Castle's on the dry side of the divide. Cold smoke is one way to decribe it.

Problem is, it's so light and dry, the winds strip it away as fast as it piles up.

I was at Fernie all last week.
Only a little new snow at the beginning of the week, otherwise snowment and crusty ice tops everywhere. I could have stayed in Ontario and ridden that kind of terrain.

And fabulous temperatures of -23 to -26 C all week.
I don't think I saw Fernie at its best.:(

I always feel bad when I read this kind of stuff. I'm a big fan of Fernie, but I have the luxury of being able to wait until the snow is falling, and then take a few days off and head down.

Fernie on a powder day is the best hill I've ever boarded at, on an icey cold day, it's rough... Possibly the worst.

Epic day today. Dry powder from knee to waist deep in many areas if you know where to go. Perfect weather too.

Try currie bowl if u like thai, he sushi is pretty good as well.
