REVELSTOKE 09-10 ... who's gonna be there? - Snowboarding Forum

yeah the title says it all. compared to the first two years being quiet as hell it seems the word is out big time and the "rush to revy" (TM :P) is full on this year.
so who else on this forum is going to be there this season?

yep, i'm heading out there in february. I've been looking at it for the last 2 years and last year some buddies weren't sure they even wanted to snowboard anymore, nevermind go out west to do it. I ended up dragging them to Fernie, they had a blast, and now it's revy this year. But don't tell anyone that's its good, because it actually sucks.... don't go there anyone

Four friends and I are moving there within the next two weeks. Just locked down a house yesterday and then we're there all season.

Hi

From Scotland and coming to Revelstoke in Feb and March can't wait. Got season pass but no accomodation though. Anyone know of anything thats going. Im not fussy a floor would do as long as i can cook food. Happy to pay 400/month or so. Any ideas?

the best place to find rentals is definitely the Revelstoke Newspaper, here is a link to the ads (updated on Tuesday nights): Rental listings on Revelstoke Times Review : local classifieds, buy and sell locally, cars, furniture, pets, real estate, merchandise and more.

also check both Kijiji and Craigslist websites
(search for "revelstoke" in the towns of Vernon, Kamloops, and Kelowna)

and check this site: http://www.thestoke.ca/list

95% of ads will be found in that newspaper though.
you often see ads for people who already are in an apt/house and are looking for someone to fill a spare bedroom - usually this is about $375-$500/month
i've seen some bachelor pads for $400-$500.
normally in BC the damage deposit is 1/2 of the rent. (so if it's $400/month rent then + $200 damage deposit)

it might be a good idea to place a "seeking accomodation" ad on TheStoke website, as well as in Kijiji Vernon and Craigslist Kamloops.

December and January are the biggest snowfalls. January is a pretty solid bet for regular pow days and a base in great shape. That being said, it's Revy and conditions are usually very fresh in any month. (dec/jan/feb, even march)
