Buying Gear!

So I'm coming over from Australia (the land of over-priced snow gear) at the start of December. Flying in to Vancouver and then flying onto Kelowna to Big White. Am I better off buying gear in Vancouver or should I just wait till I get to Big White, as in will it be much cheaper than in Kelowna and Big White?
Looking to buy some new jackets and pants and possibly a new board and bindings.

knoew all to well about the gear being overpriced in Aus I had most of mine shipped from the US, there are apparently a few good shops around Vancouver that are meant to be well priced (don't ask me exactly where they are haha) can always check clearance shops can sometimes pick up some bargains

Yeah I thought about shipping stuff before I left but figured I'd save on postage costs and wait till I got there, especially if I get a new board over there haha! Shit's ridiculous over here haha

Depending on how fast you want it to Aus it can work out pretty cheap, some of the shops charged like $80 for postage to Aus. I paid a decent amount (like $180) but that was cause I needed it like THEN AND THERE and got it within 3 days but was still able to buy the board bindings and the postage for cheaper then just the board in Aus for I was happy

It depends how fussy you are. If you have a day or so in Vancouver you could kit out for an ok price. This time of year when the season has started already you'll most likely have missed out on the sales. That said there are places like The Boardroom who have a clearance store with good deals on last years decks, and softghoods.

No idea what prices are like in Kelowna/Big White but i'd say ,more expensive just because the market is smaller. Someone please correct me if that's a stupid assumption!

Feel free to PM me when you are headin into Van, always happy to tour guide board shops

Buy it in Kelowna.
Big White has almost no selection, and is overpriced. Shop prices in Kelowna will be the same as in Vancouver, but without having to fly your gear.
Check out Freeride, Deviate, Island Snow.

hahahaha hit grafta up
depends on how long you are staying in vancouver there are many different stores you can visit for snowboards. but the clearance center at the boardroom seems to be the best around here. if you have time make sure you check them out.

I suck at snowboarding. People point at me and laugh.
