Kicking Horse Opens Next weeken - Snowboarding Forum

So the horse is opening next weekend. With 150 something cms in the past week it should be awesome! I have the day off so i will be there!

Did they bumop it up? i looked last week and i thought they said dec. 9 was opening. If it is next weekend than imma be real pissed because i planned for the 9.

Yeah, they bumped the opening because they got 100cm in under 48 hours and their base is already up to 125cm. Can't wait until my trip in late January!

Thanks man!

It should be good. MOre snow on Tuesday and blue bird on Friday which will be sweet. i will post some pics if the weather is good.

Right on man! Opening day at the Horse is always a special time (aka Epic!). I've been lucky enough to make it to 4 of them so far, but haven't in the past few years because 'why leave Revy for somewhere with less snow and a HUGE crowd'
Show up and tear off 3 sick runs, now gondola is a 50 minute wait and you're beat anyway, so sell your lift ticket for 75% the cost

That's the way to do Kicking Horse proper

Is it that crazy there on opening? I was hoping as it was a Friday it wouldn't be that shit? The weather should be good. Partly cloudy and plus 1 in Golden.

Yeah maybe it won't be tooooo bad on a Friday. Either way, it's still worth it because KH rocks!

Fuck yeah! Am pretty stoked! I just saw on Facebook that Fernie opens tomorrow so hopefully some people go there and spread the love! I am going to do a bit of goproing tomorrow. If its any good I will post it up.
