Sunshine reminds me of horsehoe valley in Barrie, ON. All the lifts sort of lead off from one place so there's always a long flat before getting back to the lift. Now I didn't ride goats eye when I was there, but neither fernie or lake louise have the problem near as bad as sunshine. I'm bombing the last half of every run there just to have enough speed to hit a few rollers.
I shouldn't give it too bad a judgement though, as I've only been twice. But I had way more fun the three times I've been to Lake Louise, and same with Fernie (been probably 6-7 times now). For all the shit that Nakiska gets, I can pump laps there on the gold chair, no lift lines, very little flat sections, nice steep runs with some lips to hit, and the glades are decent when there's powder in them. Kimberley was actually a lot of fun, neat terrain but very slow lifts on the back side, and the bridge at the bottom of the main run makes the hill almost unenjoyable. If RCR put money into kimberley (not condos but the mountain itself) it could be a great alternative destination. The GF loved it as she's more of an intermediate rider. The thought of going to kicking horse or revelstoke wigs her out (even though she's hit the bowls at Fernie and the Lake )But yeah, we're spoiled here. If I can bitch about a place like Sunshine, I'm spoiled.

i went on Saturday and tuesday, both awesome. tues was different and they didn't open dive or south side chutes.
a patroller got taken for a short ride in the chutes and they brought in the chopper to bomb it all. it was cool to see. maybe 7-10 avys in the area. don't go to ssv for park, LL is much better. i talked to a lifty and he said they cut the budget this year. it is literately half the size it was last year. LL park is bigger, and the jumps are made better. |

Don't worry about the forecast. Snow Forecasts, Snow Reports & Snow Conditions predicted hardly anything of the metre we got last week. They are always predicting dumps at KH and they never come.
Looking at this we will get some snow this weekend - Kicking Horse 6 Day Snow Forecast & Skiing Weather for 1818 m Only problem in BC is the warm weather. That could fuck things up. Top of KH will be sweet but it might rain at the base!

Supposed to be heading to Fernie next weekend to celebrate the GFs laser eye surgery, but the 7 day forecast doesn't look so good. On the other hand Lake Louise is supposed to get snow everyday until next weekend. Too bad we don't have a season pass there...
