[QUOTE=destroy;557460]
Copped a new pair of Burton Ambush in a 13 today to replace the ancient size 14 Rulers I picked up just to get rolling. Big improvement in fit and comfort, but not quite as quick responsive feeling. Went out to Hemlock for the first time, got a free pass when I got there... How did you get a free pass to Hemlock? ![]() I like free passes to Hemlock ![]() TT

) guy I am was a little unsure... so he gave me his little proof of purchase tag instead of the pass. Went to the ticket desk and told them I lost mine, she cancelled the old one and printed me a new one ![]() Gonna have to try your Cypress routine with the air bag tix sometime as well. Always feel kind of uneasy posting these things online, that's one way you can get found out! |

By anyone's opinion, which of the GVRD board shops have the best boot fitters? And by boot fitter I don't mean a person who just gives me some random boot in the size i ask for, I can go to Sportchek for that.
I'm planning on hitting the W4th shops today, maybe Coastal Riders if people recommend them... I can travel to North Van too, but only as a last resort... |

My experience at most of the local shops hasn't been the greatest. Their employees are pretty much what you would expect from young people working at a board shop - laaaiid back somewhat aloof B R O S that aren't the most articulate or professional in customer service. That said, they're generally quite friendly and on the ball when it comes to making sure you get some help at least so I won't hold too much against them. On one hand they can't always make reccomendations based on what they like since so much can be so subjective, but I digress...
When I went looking for boots in a 13 most of the W4th shops pretty much laughed and said "good luck" as they only really carried one or two pairs at most in my size. I'm not sure that the fact that it came from a cute girl who looked a lot like another girl I used to know helped or not, but yeah... I was in Coastal Riders a couple weeks ago on unrelated bidniz and ended up glancing at boots and chatting with one of the dudes there who was pretty helpful. Went in on boxing day and it was a zoo. They had less in my size than the dude had said the week prior but I tried on the couple pairs they had (one of which was one of the ones I was after) anyway and went with the Ambush (20% off too!) as it was a real solid fit. They haven't really fully packed out yet but I can tell they'll only need minor tweaking if any. After a couple hard days of riding they feel great. There's some great threads in the boots forum on here if you look. They'll tell you what you should be looking for and how a good fit should feel, along with what you can do to improve the fit of what you have/get. As a newer rider but a very quick learner, I found them really helpful. Hopefully you made out well today! |

I'm about to drive to Squamish to buy a pair of deadly boots for super cheap, Ride RFL's for $100 bucks. This guy has lots of gear for stupid cheap, search 604-849-4264 on craigslist for some of the stuff. I've bought gear off him already once before & he has way more gear he hasn't taken pics of.
If you see something you like, & we buy it together, we can probably swing a deal with him. I did last time. I bought a Ride Slackcountry with Ride EX bindings & 2013 Ride El Hefe bindings for the grand total of $250!!!! If that gives you any idea of the kinds of deal you're gonna get here. Slackcountry $750 Ride EX bindings $230 $2013 Ride El Hefe's $400 I paid $250!!! If you got a few bucks in your pocket, This is your golden opportunity to score some retarded prices. Last time I was there he had like 20 boards 10 pairs of boots & bindings. Smorgasbord!!! Brand New Burton Imperial Boots, size 19, Black, 2013 It's a size 10 Brand New Ride Snowboard, Blauvelt 161cm Brand New 2013 Ride Capo Bindings Size L Black If anybody sees something they like, I can grab it for you. Dohnuts? you're close to me I believe. TT

Good lookin' out!
Too bad I already grabbed a pair'o'deez yesterday at 15% off retail: ![]() Shredded Cypress last night with 'em until close. ![]() Let me know if he's got any nice Lib or Gnu stuff. I'm a bigger guy (6'3" 215~ lbs depending on the day...) and ride a 162w currently but could possibly go a little smaller for the right package. |

Ouch, that still probably cost you close to $200? Didn't it?
I would take em back if I could & buy 2 sets of Ride Capo's for $200. Well $100 a piece is what he's got them on Craigs for, but if you wanna come with me you could probably get them both for $150. I bought the Slack for $150 Then asked if he would drop the El Hefe's from $150 to $100 & he did. Your in Langley I could pick you up in 15 min

Ah, I wish he had a mid-150s all mountain board. I'd love to grab one with a set of those bindings. My gear is terrible but I'm too poor and don't get up the mountain enough to drop a ton of money on new stuff. I could just get the bindings but then I'd need a new board too because my current piece of junk isn't worthy of touching those.

I'm actually really happy with them. I wanted them the first time I saw 'em and my research said they're just right for me. Kinda wanted the silver with the orange accents but the green (my fave colour!) goes sweet with the board! But $200? hah... not quite. The MSRP on those is $299 but they were 15% off whatever they normally go for at Coastal. $283 all told after tax. Money I didn't plan on spending but hey, it's only a drop in the savings account...Still, smokin' deals there dude! ![]() Now I just gotta finish working on the Benz tomorrow morning so I can get my ass back up on the mountain... *grovel grovel* |
