I found it was heavy, yes, but very good until about 300m underneath the reservoir. after that it started to have a nasty crust which made turning a bitch.
i definitely had a hoot the only good thing about tomorrow is that they had showcase closed all day today, so glacier will have minimal tracks, except anyone who bootpacked it from horstman. but that won't last long. super glad i went today and got first chair... well, 3rd chair, technically.

Went all the way up to Cypress today after work. Too much rain. Said "fuck it", turned around and went home. Picking up my '13-'14 pass soon.
Got out the goods and got all three boards with a fresh coat of wax. Gonna hit Whissy tomorrow and maybe Sunday. wooorrrd up. I'll take the advice in here on what to ride? It always seems to be below freezing up there which keeps it pretty fluffy and ice-free compared to most of the shit we get down here in the city. Hopefully the waits aren't as BRUTAL as last time. Singles lines were even slower than the rest! |

You've gotta stay in the alpine. Sub alpine will be crusty shit, sadly they just cracked the alpine yesterday, so it'll be pretty tracked out, but blackcomb glacier should be ok. Could probably find done stashes in the trees as well on 7th, or Xmas trees on whistler. CBC is too low elevation so it'll be concrete.

Mmm not too sure about that. I hit spankys ruby bowl yesterday, the snow up top was decent and towards the middle and bottom of ruby bowl it's starting to get a bit crusty, so I don't think glacier would be any better. I traverse far left on 7th to lake side bowl to get some fresh turns and the pow is also still a bit wet but still rippable and not concrete.

Snow up here is plenty good, fahgeddaboudiiitt!
Just rode Blackcomb Glacier. Up near the top it was a total whiteout. Total vertigo feeling cruising some freshies with no vision. No idea what was under the feet. Uneasy but rad. Tons of fresh coming down right now. Tomorrow's gonna be good! |

My friend had to fly out today and he has a ticket with 4 days left on it, but it expires on the 24th. He'll let it go at a good discount, thought I'd post it here first. Bad timing IMO, today should be pretty amazing up there.
PM me any offers. You have to use the 4 days up in the next 5 days (including today). I'll walk with you onto the lifts to make sure it works, but I have a season pass myself so it's of no use to me. $250 obo Last edited by luckboxing; 03-20-2013 at 04:36 PM. |
