Might as well start dreaming early.

It's June 23rd and this summer is shit. Let's skip this wimpy summer and give us back the winter.

Booya!

Snow has been firm but in good condition because of the colder temps. Pretty much just riding groomers and a few tracks through the trees. Don't expect to be finding powder stashes anywhere close to a normal run. Is it your first time in Whistler because either way you will have a blast.

It hasn't been too busy of late, which will be nice for you. Bare in mind this coming weekend is an American holiday (I think, and if you aren't american) so Friday/Sat/Sun will be a bit busier then it has been. Come Monday though it should be back to normal :)

The temps in Whistler look like they should stay reasonably low (compared to the locals in Van) so I wouldn't worry to much about that, however the freezing level totally spikes so :dunno:

Was at cypress yesterday night. Decent night, hard snow and ultra fast. Don't adventure off piste because there are some HUGE ruts. I almost lost my neck a few times. Also on Lions there is a spot on the chairlift about 3/4 way up where one could easily jump off, maybe 6ft or less.

I also saw a kid on Rainbow slide down on his back all the way down, he couldn't stop himself as how icy it was. I went after and concur, skeeeetchy.

FUCKIN A!!!!! If the weather network is to be believed, Cypress is going to get hit with a good dump the day before and the day I'm there... And Whistler is supposted to get a dusting too (although the temps seem higher for Whistler, not sure if it's going to turn into poo).

Thanks for the snow dance everyone!!! :yahoo::yahoo::yahoo:

It depends what you are looking for. Are you hoping to luck out with some awesome powder days or looking to cruise a bit more while enjoying the sun?

Avoid the holiday times like the plague because they get SUPER FUCKING BUSY. Though now they have announced two lift upgrades, hoping to be up and running by the 2013/2014 season. I could see it cutting lift lines dramatically at times, however that will probably bring in more people so it's sort of a catch 22.

Check out the weekends as well to see if it is a Canadian/American holiday (not sure where you are from exactly) because that can bring in a huge influx of people.

Typically February/March are decent months to come up. last season we had basically blue birds the whole month of Feb and then 16feet of snow in March :yahoo: didn't get to ride a day:blowup:

Ok, tomorrow is poutanen & Donutz day @ Cypress..
Sounds yummy, don't it:eusa_clap::thumbsup:

Come one, come all. You too Grafta. It's also the day all Seymour fan boys get converted.

Cypress is your new master now.

So if you're @ work, start hammin' it up. "I think I'm startin' to feel sick" cough cough. It's gonna be a hoot:dizzy:, literally!!:D

I think we should to be able to get close to a dozen out there, maybe more.
It might be the last sunny day for a while. So get your asses out there.

I'm part of a facebook snowboarding club, as are a few of you. I was thinkin' of posting it on there cause it's more than 150 strong, but only a few are in both so I don't know?

I just got in touch with Kung-Pow & he's gonna try & come up with me, if he can hopefully catch the flu @ some point today:unsure:

Lets go people, up & at them

Doubt I can make it by 9am. Definitely by 9:30. I have to drop my daughter off at school and there's a limit to how early I can do that (or how early I can get her out of bed for that matter  )

Let me know what lift you'll be using (either tonight or tomorrow morning) and I'll text you when I get there and sit at the base of the lift until you come down.

If you put that up here, everyone who's coming can head over to that lift.

Lol to the daughter... I have enough trouble getting my GF out of bed!

I think I'm going to head to the Lions Express high speed quad for a few warmup laps. I'll have my cell on me the whole day. Can see Cypress, Grouse and Seymour lights from my hotel room right now, pretty cool! :)

Sweet! I sent TT my cell number, and Donutz has it as well. Like I said I'll probably ride that Lion chair for the first couple runs to get my legs under me. Kinda hard to miss me I have bright yellow pants, and I'll probably be wearing a white maple leaf camo jacket tomorrow, blue gloves, and a helmet with a Contour roam.

Oh yeah and a European ironing board under my feet! :yahoo:

Okay so flying into Vancouver tonight, when I looked to the South across the delta I saw a MASSIVE mountain. Very prominent and off by itself. Very distinct from the range inland from it.

Is that Baker? If so I had this totally different impression of the area. I didn't think you'd be able to see Baker from the city.

I've got a pic from the plane, but it's not the greatest.

Well, I had a friggin' blast today. Up on Cypress with poutanen, timmytard, and kung-pow. A little wet in the morning, but snowed all day, and it was getting deep by the time I had to leave. At one point we found ourselves riding along inches from the edge of a significant cliff. OK, I'm awake now!

#511 ·
But ya, kick ass day!!!
Good ridin' with you kids:eek:ccasion14:, & I don't think I saw Charles all day:dunno:

Hopefully y'all got some good footy:eusa_clap:
Sweet! Yeah good riding with everybody, even if you didn't like the Ironing Board. lol It grows on you after a couple days...

About half of my vids the lens was covered with snow, just started going through the other stuff and there's some decent shots there! If I have some down time this week I'll put a little clip show together. :D

Actually if there's a place we can all dump the raw files, I wouldn't mind piecing something together from the 3 cameras.

I'm hoping Seymour and Whistler are getting some of the dump that Cypress got.

Yeah! It was great riding with ya'll today! Timmy was right! My heart was telling me to stay, but my legs wanted out. Lol. I was just going through my Gopro footage right now too, and realized that 90% of the footage was blemished as well. Dammit!!
