forget fernie!!! Way too early to go come all this way for nothing(unless they get a massive dump which happens)
Take the others advice and go to KH, theyve been having some epic opening days for the last couple years and worst case you can drive the 45 mins from KH to lake louise which opened all their lifts. Sunshine is pretty epic for this early too. Whistler is probably the biggest gamble spot in canada lol Friend went for new years last year and got pretty soaked from the rain and i did a trip in mid feb and out of 5 days i got 1 day of good riding. it was the first day so we were so stoked to ride and when we got up the next day it was literally pouring at the village. We watched people walking around holding their boards and skis just soaked. It rained solid for 3 days and on the last day it let up but it wasnt fun, up top was nice and dry and then halfway down youd end up in super wet snow which does not move well because of the weight lol. I just got back from Baldface, was up there for work and there was fuck loads of snow. I did get a couple very short lines in.... it felt like heaven. I'll be hiking Whitewater on Sunday to get a few more turns in before she officially opens. I think we are behind last year for snow, but hopefully she is still fully open 2nd weekend of December.

To much money to gamble wih when there are other forsure resorts around there. Same shit happened to me, first day was prob one of the best days rising I've ever had. Besides heli ; the deepest freshest powder I've ever been in. For about and hour then it was all tracked out, then it rained the whole week and we would actully have to take the gondala down the mountian to avoid the rain and slush. Halarious
