Avalanche transceiver (digital) $10.00
Avalanche probe $3.00
Snow shovel $3.00
Snow saw $2.50

Will it be wise to get all of the above?
I first thought you were buying the gear .. thought holy crap that is cheap. For divide you need shovel, probe, beacon and a partner.

If the snow is good, I might consider hiking twins and setup a jump. It isn't 'epic' lines or anything, but just a fun day of monkeying around.

What is a beacon going to do if you dont know how to use it? Or when in panic you forget, miss or screw up a step? i wouldn't play in BC before i get some avalanche training. Just because there is a gate to it doesn't mean its safe.

It's more important your buddy knows how it works than you (assuming it is you that is in trouble). At the top of Wawa lift at Sunshine is a test place, so you can practice.

I've used a beacon before but not a probe - but from what I gather the side country at sunshine is on par with the Kicking Horse chutes and hikes off T2 & T3.

Is that twin peaks hike off the top of wawa? We built a little booster there a month or so back, it was fun.

If you go right, that is Wawa Ridge, left is twins. The mound straight ahead .. dunno what it is called... I call it memories of Ontario

yep that's the one I meant.. i couldnt get enough speed to ride out of it and had to walk out the flat bit but it's only a 5 minute walk out. If the snow is good that's a great spot for a kicker.

Lots of good snow to be had at SSV today. Nothing new overnight but the wind seemed to freshen up most of the south facing areas and the lack of people meant it all lasted longer.

If the weekend forecast holds up Sunday could be a good one.

I'll maybe be up at Sunshine tomorrow now instead of Sunday.

Sunshine was decent today. Been snowing off and on all day. I think tomorrow will be really nice.
