Sorry but Kicking horse is the only hill worth riding... maybe Revvi too but thats way too far out for Calgary.
I moved to Calgary 4 years ago (from the UK), and now I'm a proud KHMR season pass holder. They have a shorter season than SSV, but the terrain available is just amazing. Saying that, if you like groomed runs you can go to any hill. SSV consistently has better snow than Lake Louise by the way, thought you might like to know. |

![]() I just love being in close proximity to the mountains for activites during all 4 seasons. Skiing/riding, biking, hiking, camping, random exploring, and hunting. |

KH could be great with another couple lifts installed on the upper mountain. |

Actually I think I'm taking it easy tomorrow! Cypress Wednesday, Seymour today, Whistler Sunday, whoever has the best snow on Monday. Tomorrow I'm going to be a tourist!
![]() The sun actually came out for a bit today in Vancouver. I thought something was wrong!

Hey guys thanks for all the replies. I got to Calgary today and moved all my stuff in. Not going to be starting work until Wednesday so I'm thinking of heading to Nakiska on Tuesday. As Poutanen was saying it would be a good place to break my legs in since I've only ever rode Blue Mountain and the east side. I'm also going to get a Costco membership tomorrow to grab lift tickets as that sounds like the best route. Thanks for all the info I definitely appreciate it!
If anyone is heading out on Tuesday from Calgary let me know. |

I ended up going to Lake Louise on Tuesday and super happy I did. Great first experience in the Rockies. Ended up going on the Ski Friends tour with a bunch of feisty seniors. They knew the mountain like the back of their hand and we went on a few awesome runs that I would not have found if I was on my own. Probably working Saturday but might try to get out somewhere Sunday morning. The weather has been unreal as well, really hoping it stays this way! Can't wait to get back out... Not sure why I didn't make the move sooner!
