Angry No snow interior bc or alberta

This year really blows for fresh snow. I have gotten daily emails from Kicking Horse Resort all season and I seriously cannot remember a single day where they reported fresh snow - not even 1 cm.

I used to get snow alerts all the time last year for Castle Mountain. Not a single alert this year advising of snowfall over 15cm.

Sunshine Village conditions are not bad, but it barely snows up there either.

Wanted to take a week vacation to snowboard but that doesn't appear to be in the cards. Snow Forecast looks shitty.

Bad news for the BC resorts at this stage. I think the snow in Fernie has been ok. Banff resorts still have a long way to go though. Luckily Sunshine gets its best snow from about now till mid April. Plus the temps here are stable so the snow has stayed in pretty good shape. Live snow report says Sunshine has had 5.7cm since 9 am this morning. Hopefully this keeps up! 2-12-2013 Stonehenge Automated Weather Plot (2160m) Sunshine Village Interval Observation

Seems like KH has the worst of it though. I have been here for 5 seasons and i have never seen the horse in such bad shape. I have not been out there this season as they have not head any big pow days yet (20cm+)

Yeah down here has been dry as of late as well. There is snow, but a lot of hiking is involved to go get it. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for March as I still have 11 pow days banked worth of OT!

I feel like this is similar to last year. Jan drought in alberta and eastern bc. Went to KH on alberta family day last year and it was dust on crust, should be the same this year.

Was at fernie on monday, wasn't great but everything was pretty soft considering the weather. I think the get some wind blown stuff there.

We have had some abnormal days of 4/5+ with a few 4+ degrees days in January, usually our coldest, iciest, non-snowy month.
I have to say, sitting up there in the sunshine drinking a beer was pretty nice, but we need more snow coverage and I would like a pow day right about now.
The lack of pow has made me concentrate more on skills and freestyle, so for me its not all bad.
