This sucks. Suggestions?

Sooo, it's December 8th and we have 5 Celcius degrees and rain.

I was hoping to be able to do some small-scale riding in Stockholm over Christmas/New Year but those plans are looking increasingly vain. Only the north-western parts of Sweden have snow, barely.

Going to Japan for three weeks in February and need to save money for that so I can't splurge...

Can anyone come up with some clever, cheap, suggestions?

Easyjet goes from Stockholm to Geneva, from there you're a short train ride away from the highest mtns in Europe, in France and Switzerland. Look for youthhostels (Jugendherberge). The big name resorts will be expensive and crowded on xmas... but there's a huge selection of mid sized resorts which have reasonable pass prices (e.g. my home resort costs half the price as Zermatt). You find a complete list if resorts on bergfex: Skiing holiday Austria | Ski resorts Austria | Skiing Austria

I really thought quicksand was going to be a much bigger issue in my life when I was little

Hahah yes, I feel your pain. I'm watching webcams all over my area and it is going from white to green. Overnight snow melting to country club quality greens. Even the glacier in Engelberg is looking grim.

Oh, I'm all up on this week's forecast!! I'm just hoping these places get rolling on Friday so I can get up there and beat the crowd by one day.

My suggestion is for snow.

Rain at this time is just no good.

Thanks. Looks like it'll be too expensive for me efter all though. Tried to imporvise a weekend trip to Trysil, Norway but couldn't get the connections to fit.
