Val Thorens has had a crazy amount of snowfall according to a buddy of mine who was there over xmas, but that's all I've heard about on the French side.
In Piemonte and Valle D'Aosta (I've been to Bardonecchia and Cervinia this season) both have at least double the snowfall of last year. Some of the locals in Bardonecchia said it's the best season in a long long time.
Down here in abruzzo it's the best season since I've been going there. Another 30 cm last night n bluebird day today.

Here on the Swiss side we had over 400% average for the month of December and January is starting off great. Last year we had almost twice as much. Last year was of course, insane. We were trapped in a little village for over 24 hours due to avalance danger. You could hear them breaking off in the near distance like standing on a beach and listening to giants break. It was humbling for sure.

Hi I'm South African,
Went to La Plagne from 12Jan to 19Jan, had a fair amount of snowfall, was awesome, just colder than what I expected, last time I rode in Europe was 2008. I'm not wanting to wait this long for the next trip, looking at 2014 hopefully. We took 2 days longer to get back home than planned, with airport closures and snowfall, ended up sleeping in Geneva airport and the following night in Frankfurt airport. I sometimes get jealous that we don't have any decent mountains( with snow ) here and it's quite costly to go to Europe to ride, we have a mountain about 4 hours from where I live, but it sucks in comparison. It has one run of about 1km length. I always tell myself that some time in the snow is better than no time.

Swiss Alps at 1400m - end of december (I'm standing at the door left side, waving)

In my second winter in this cabin, we had green meadow with daisies (!) at February. So yes, it was a great winter again

No need to worry. At least in the Berner Oberland, despite some "Föhn" storms, there's still a lot of snow for late March not the usual spring hardpack/slush/dirt mix but rather decent groomers most of the time 'cause some cm fresh snow fell every week.
