I have done a fair bit of research on the internet, including this site, but I still have massive confusion about board selection. I went to the local shop today, but of course they only had a limited number of boards and a million skiis. I've been boarding for probably about 4 years...
i made the thread about the Never Summer West and I am heavily leaning that way but is there other boards from NS or other brands I should cross shop?
99% east coast (Vermont) riding
all i do is ride groomers and glades
do not care about park at ALL
east coaster. until recently the most i ever really went was 2-3x/year.
now i am upping that to at least 5+ (hopefully 10+).
anyway, come take a look at my video. i know it isn't the best angle but please give me some advice/insight.
i know what i am doing wrong. i am leaning too far back...
conquered marked glade trails with a fair amount of ease.
it was the unmarked stuff that made me sketch out a bit and i almost bit it pretty hard a few different times.
would you guys consider these wide open or tight? these were a black diamond glade run that i fared pretty well on.
been to stratton a few times. definitely not my favorite hill in the world (price, size, etc.) but its OK and we have a free mansion to stay in.
that said, are there any really good runs/glades i can check out? the only glades ive found have been insanely tight and i am still trying to learn...
i have only attempted them 3-4 times but i can't seem to figure them out. granted the ones i've ridden were fairly tight but i was unable to keep a steady pace. either too quick and then falling or too slow.
ugh. so frustrating. any advice?
would like to start this since i need help and am now addicted to glade riding
tried it for the first time last year at Stowe in vermont. got my ass KICKED, but absolutely LOVED it. just such a more interesting/fun/back-to-nature type experience that i have never had on a trail (at least on the...
don't get me wrong. i LOVE the thing and it flies. but when trying to catch some air or anything involving maneuverability, i think it suffers.
i am 5'11, 200lbs with a size 11.5 foot (boots are a 13 but way too big, probably need an 11.5-12)
so, did i unnecessarily get a wide board and will...
reason i ask is i have been slogging around with boots that are absolutely too big. maybe by a full size (at least 1/2).
last year i tried glade riding and i think i really began to feel the effect of having boots that don't fit. i had 0 confidence in my turning ability and was all over the...
How To: From the GROOMERS to the GLADES...
any tips? i feel pretty confident on marked trails. went into some glades with my buddies at Stowe and felt COMPLETELY lost. fell a bunch, went super slow, sliding my way down.
was scary and a huge workout. other than feeling comfortable with turns...
