Anyone got any news on bindings from Flux for next year?

I know there were some rumblings about possibly adding canting to future designs and possibly some more dampening in the footbeds, but that was all rumor. Anything solid?

yeah I had the catalog but didn't know the details on any of the new designs.

I found the part buried in wiredsports post which mentioned the changes. Basically, it sounds like they did away with the numbering convention, and anything with the "Ultima" footbed has canting.

Wonder how the new DM would pair up with an Arbor Blacklist?

I work here at Flux... hopefully I can answer your questions.
We did take off the numbers to all models for 13-14. Before, the numbers symbolized the amount of fiberglass in the baseplate... this year, we are using varying amounts of fiberglass in the baseplate, depending on your size. (A large would have more than a medium, a medium would have more than a small) The more fiberglass used, the stiffer and more responsive the baseplate becomes. Generally, if you have a larger foot, you are going to want a stiffer setup than someone with a small.
Canting..... We introduced something we call the Ultima Freeride Footbed, and the Ultima Freestyle footbed. On the Ultima Freeride Footbed, we have more dense sections on the toes and on the outside of the foodbed. On the Ultima Freestyle Footbed, we have put the dense sections only on the outside of the footbed. When I tested these... I kind of looked at it almost like a gas pedal.
The denser sections are going to give you good response where you push down on it. The footbeds have a softer instep, allowing yoru boot to compress into it as needed for your stance. The small amount of tilt from this new footbed adds more power to the nose and tail.
Hope this makes sense... let me know if you have any other questions!

Goshhh yes... Our apologies to anyone that had issues with a toe cap this season. Flux prides itself on creating the greatest bindings in the world and we are*extremely sorry for this mix up. To explain,*Flux has a machine that heat molds toe straps, actually 10 of them. One of the machines was off calibration and was accidentally injecting tiny air bubbles into the mold thus making the straps perforated and prone to tearing from the inside out. This only occurred to a small batch of FTMs. A new batch of reinforced FTMs* have been made to replace this bad batch, and use on any future bindings out of our warehouse..including all the 13-14's. You should not see any future breaks!!
Please refer any warranty issues to [email protected].... I get all these request, so if you see this... say you saw me on the forum and Ill help ya out! No problems.
We are experimenting with a whole new toe cap design for 14-15... so stay posted for that too.
