Hey everyone out there.
So….. Has anyone ever come across one of these boards?
I bought this baby 20 years ago from a friend but hardly used it. I am struggling to find any history/information.

What in the FUCK?
Right!
I’ve used it a handful of times but it’s been mounted on the wall for years (I have a fierce loyalty to my Arbor).
My teenager decides he wants to board and he chooses this one to learn on. So the interest in its true origins begins…….
That logo is the Aphex twin logo From his Album cover of Selected Ambient Works from 1992. Richard D. James is the guy behind the band and he’s known for putting his face on other images. The little kid is his face on a school boy outfit. Some of the face photos are really creepy. The one below if from Come to Daddy.

Aphex twin is out of the UK/Ireland. Hit his heyday in the early 90s. If I had to pigeonhole his music, I’d say IDM. The dude was way ahead of his time. Like Nightmares on Wax, Plaid, Boards of Canada, Thievery Corporation, etc. They're all old guys now, like me. I have many Aphex twin songs in my snowboarding playlist on Spotify since IDM/ Trip Hop of the 90’s is my jam.

The board could have been made as a promo for his Come to Daddy release in 1997; kind of like a PBR or Corona snowboard if I had to guess?

Check out Aphex Twins song “Windowlicker“….. and of course “come to daddy”. if the songs speak to you, then that board will have value. If you hate it, then let’ your kid trash the shit out of it while he learns to shred.

I'd advise not to let your son destroy it learning to ride. Its probably not super valuable but it is certainly rare and worth keeping. Maybe even contact Warp Records and see if they want it for their archive. Aphex Twin is one of the most important musicians of the 20th Century.

I would smash that.
“Smash” can mean so many things in the English language………. What does smash mean in Sweden? Do I want to know?????

Thanks for the advice. I think that’s what I’ll do.

Think they ride???😂😂😂
Its a rare promo board made by warp records for the come to daddy album release.
Not too sure who manufactures it, but its likely to be à generic chinese made one.
Very rare and desirable board imo.
If one day you're selling, hit me up ;)
Thanks for the info. Back on the wall it goes for now.
For sure, if I do need to sell I will connect with you.

Let’s be honest. You wouldn’t pay more than €50 for that board. It might be rare but what kind of value does it hold? It’s only rare because it’s advertising and not meant for snowboarding. It’s not in mint condition and it’s not a high end board. I have been an Aphex Twin fan since the early days and appreciated his influence on all things electronica but what connection to snowboarding does it really have? Not a board I’d put on a wall.
My Advice: OP’s son should ride it next season and then put it on his wall. Not because it’s a promo Aphex Twin board but because it’s the first board he learned to ride on. To him it will have value.

I don't know, there are quite a few Aphex twin fans (as the thread is pointing out). If you say 50, I might say 60, you know… BTW auctions are really good for this kind rare stuff that don't really have any intrisinc price.
Look what I found just found on eBay ….
sold by a new seller with (0) next to their name.
crazy to buy from someone with a (0). New seller or scammer?
$200 OBO so we still don’t know how much someone paid for it.

now this one I might actually buy……
