Well Arbor still makes the Cosa Nostra, iirc the Charlie Slasher hasn't been produced since like 2017. Are you looking at buying one of these? Are there used ones in the shop? Do you own both? Whats the situation? I remember the Charlie because it was the one that had a strip of material in the middle allowing you to turn it into a splitboard.

I had a cosa nostra. It was really sweet but it was less of a powder board than I'd been expecting. Riding it in the trees, it felt almost like a twin park deck. It was versitile but I moved on in search of better powder performance. I've always wanted to try a Charlie. For powder, that's what I'd get.

„Riding it in the trees, it felt almost like a twin park deck” - You means too soft, too flexible?
It felt like a westmark rocker to me. It's slightly setback with a stylish nose and tail but really didn't feel much different. I think it could use more taper and setback for powder. As an all around rocker deck it was cool. I've got much better powder boards though.

I see. It is interesting that in various tests and opinions arbor is rated better, for example thegoodride.com.
My powder experiences are limited to flat capita spring break sick sixty six 2015. Cosa nostra tempts me with its rocker, which is supposedly better for a calm, loose ride in powder.

Good ride reviews are pretty garbage and the ones for old boards are him just reading marketing spiel because he was not good at snowboarding. Sounds like you've made your decision and are looking for reasons to justify it by getting us to agree with you. Get the board that will make you happy and you'll enjoy. In my personal quiver I've got a Charlie and party shark reissue.

Yes, I guess you're right! I'm looking for an excuse for misplaced love. I know Capita is better, but that overrated Arbor with that "wooden" top and fish tail is so cool...
Thank you for Your opinions!

I only rode the Charlie Slasher. It was what you'd expect from looking at it: it worked, but it was gutless and not something I liked much. The finish quality wasn't great, although the graphics were funky. It was entirely ridable, did what you'd expect. I suppose I would be an aggressive powder rider: the flatness of it may be perfect for less aggressive use.
