Does anyone ride a bataleon tbt in the pnw? Just curious if it is even worth considering since it can get kinda icy up here in Seattle.

I used to have a ton of Bataleons, just about every model in several sizes, over the years. Don't have any in the quiver anymore, pretty much because of edgehold on ice. It's fine when you just man up and engage the edge, but was never as good as most other boards, so I moved away from it. If they added something like magnetraction, it would probably solve the problem. Companies like Burton and Rome are now dabbling in 3D base shapes with lifted contact points like TBT, so it will be interesting to see what they do differently.

I have an Evil Twin and ride primarily Crystal+Snoqualmie. I put 15 days on it and decided that fucker was going on the wall and never coming down again. TBT rides just fine on groomers, but the spoon shaped nose handles really, really badly in chop, and while it handles better in pow than a traditional camber, it's still not better than anything with center rocker.

I rode a Bataleon at Mt. Hood last year. I really like it but I mostly do park, jib, side hits type riding. My friend out there got an evil twin and he hates it so... I dunno.

I really want to have a TBT board but where I ride is almost always strait ice. Magnetraction is a requirement for my boards. My friend rides a neversummer and even then my boards hold way better. I've ridden a TB and it was fun but just not right for my hill.

I've also owned just about every Bataleon board, but likewise I don't ride them anymore. I found a cambered board with a 2 degree side bevel was a far better ride with just about the same catch free feel.

I really like the Yes camrock stuff, super fun boards that hold a great edge while having all the catch free fun and float of non traditional boards.

But I still ride camber for the jump line and half pipe. Nothing beats camber for getting a vertical pop off a kicker that feels like hitting an updraft of turbulence in an airplane. That's one thing about the Bataleons they can pop, Goliath, and Riot.
