Hi all first post for me.

So I sold/selling the two boards I rode last year and picked up two new boards for this year. I didnt like how the boards I had last year were too specific.

I want to get your opinions on which of the new boards I should ride on a big pow days.

Sold/Selling

2013 Salomon Sabotage Classicks Snowboard 154 for $180 (check FS thread). Really fun board with lots of pop but it couldnt charge as hard as Id like my board to.

Likely selling my 2012 NS Raptor 159. This has to be one of the most badass freeride boards on the market. Thrilling aggressive ride charging around the mountain. I especially liked it on groomed runs. I didnt like the fact that the board wasnt very playful.

So I've got two new boards that I think I'm gona love.

2013 NS Proto CT - super fun board that can still charge around the mountain.
2013 Capita TFA - hard charging board that I can still have some fun on.

I appreciate both camber shapes and I know both will do fine in a bit of pow so I'm super psyched to finally ride them. My main concern is which board i should take on on days where is puking snow. Like those 1, 2, 3 foot days.

Thanks!

I personally like the Capita camber profile better than the N.S. for pow.

That being said, sell me that Raptor!

Between the two, for a pow day? Neither would be my first choice. Try a BSOD instead. The Cobra would charge a bit more as well. If I had to choose from just those two.....N.S.

Haha thanks for the suggestions man! I already bought these two decks tho! I'd love to have a BSOD and a Cobra.

I'll definitely keep you in mind for the Raptor. Its actually in superb condition and should make someone very happy. Im going to make a final decision in about a months time. I just want to make sure I dont hate my two new boards in the pow. And if i do, I want to make sure I can get a good deal on a pow board, like a Charlie or Powsnake. Or cut a swallow tail into my Sabotage that no one seems to want. :dunno:

I was also thinking the Proto because i rode a Custom FV in pow a couple years ago and it was actually really fun. But the TFA is more of an all mountain deck which makes me think it might be a bit better. I just want to make sure I dont waste a good pow day.

Thanks a lot Nivek.

Also just curious, why will the TFA be better on steeps on the Proto better on more mellow runs?

I don't own a Proto but I do have a TFA and it's a kickass do it all board. I'm not a park guy though so can't help there. But we get a lot of pow where I am, the TFA floats thru it with ease. It's slightly setback too. It also rips every other condition very well. Great all around board.
