Hello SBF,

I just bough a 2022 Rossignol XV Snowboard 163 and looking for bindings. I only ride resort groomers on icy days and tree runs on powder days..I do not jump, park, pipe... At 53 yrs old, I just like to ride like I'm driving a Cadillac. I also like to sit in lodge and drink beer but not sure that is a factor.

I'm size 9 boot
I weight 225lbs

I know so many options and I know everyone has their favorite. I'm highly considering Jones Mercury. I really like the idea the straps can swap sides to adjust for powder days and icy groomer days.

I don't need precision but I need response for tree runs.

I'm highly considering Jones Mercury. From some reviews I understand the straps can swap sides to give to more/less stiffness for when I ride ice/powder. Runner up would be Burton Genesis as they use "like riding a Cadillac" in their marketing. I want more of a PlugnPlay so I don't need so many adjustments as I will just confuse myself.

I've never done the skate tech, largely because I like to rotate my high backs, but the Mercury does sound good.

I'm riding the Rome Cleavers on my daily now, which have a decent response and dampness. The Bataleon Astro FULL wrap look like they'd be a similar alternative (a bit more cushy, without as many adjustments).

I have the Jones Mercury now and they definitely work and offer solid ride, however, for some reason I found them "slightly" worse than my older Now Drives. Maybe just haven't ridden on the Now in a while and playing mind games with myself since the two bindings very similar, but found the Drives to be slightly more powerful/responsive. But I rode both the Mercury and the Drives with the hard bushing and worked well. Definitely want a responsive binding with a XV.

I bought the Jones Mercury. so will let you know how it works out. Riding next Friday.
Nice man you'll have a good time on it for sure. Skatetech is definitely legit and makes a difference. You may not notice immediately while riding but after you swap bindings you definitely notice the difference and it seems less lively/responsive. Hard to go back to any other binding after riding with those.
