So I ordered my board over 3 weeks ago and I was supposed to get it shipped within 3-6 days. The website I ordered from did their part, but Fed-Ex has screwed everything up so royally that my board's package's shipping label got messed up and it's waiting to be sent out. I was hoping to have it for the last few days of the season, but the mountains nearby are closed and it's gotten to be 60+ degrees the past couple of days. I have no chance of getting to try it out until the fall now. Has anybody else ever experienced anything like this? It's frustrating!

I ordered some Smith goggles. I was tracking the package, and the status changed to "address change" or something like that, and I guess it got delivered somewhere else, since the status was soon after changed to "delivered." Filed a claim, now all I can do is wait. This was with UPS, not FedEX.

Usually when you buy at a local shop, you go home with it that day...just a thought. You don't have to deal with shipping issues when it is in your hand at the register.

Had Fed Ex try to steal 3 decks from me on 2 separate occasions. Called them out on it too and they said it was delivered and that I had signed for it, really strange since I didn't have the decks. Basically came down to me calling and screaming at people and threatening to drive to their distribution center to get everything righted.

I don't live near a board shop and it was substantially cheaper to buy online. I would have bought it in person, but I just don't have that luxury.

That sucks. At least that hasn't happened to me yet

I always worry about it when I order packages online. When I ordered my board, I stayed home the day it was expected to get delivered. Watched the driver pull up to my house, put my package at my FRONT DOOR and just leave without ringing the door bell or anything. Had someone come by and seen that package, I'm sure he/she would've stolen it since it was big. What happened to them ringing the door bell, and making sure you got the package? especially when it's a big package like a board and a box with bindings and boots?

have you tried contacting the online retailer that you purchased your board from? maybe they put the wrong address or something? if anything call your credit card company and tell them whats going on so you can get your money back. Hope all works out.

I grew up in NJ. There are plenty of shops. What part of Jersey are you in?
I live in NJ, but I go to school out in PA. The closest boardshops are an hour away.

Some good news though... everything came today! It sucks that FedEx took close to a week and a half to fix an unreadable bar code, but everything arrived!

Yikes, not good. Where those home deliveries or deliveries to a workplace? I'm sure the fedex guys know you must sample a lot of boards throughout the season.

If you have the tracking number you can always go down to the terminal and pick it up, best bet is to print off the tracking sheet from the web and take it with you. Although I guess at this point it doesn't matter does it?

As for the guy complaining about them leaving packages, that's standard procedure for residential delivery unless it's an apt. although they are supposed to knock or ring the bell before they go. If you don't want a package left at the front door you should leave a note, ask that packages be shipped with a signature required or ship them to a business address. Business deliveries always require a signature, unless arangements have been made in advance with that business. Most people are not home during the day so we generally assume that there is nobody home and if it's not a signature required it gets left at the door.

It's usually up to the drivers discretion to leave at an apt door in a building if it's not the first floor. Figures the packages I want left never are and the ones I want signed for are left at my door. :dunno:

It's always the drivers descretion, but any package that is left at an apt is the drivers responsiblity if it goes missing. I never leave anything at an apt, unless I get a signature on a tag first, just too much risk.
