burton's new 3 year warranty

head's up guys,

all boards produced during the 13/14 season featuring the channel will implement a 3 year warranty. note that this does not apply to burton boards of previous years. this is an insane step that burton just took. a 3 year warranty is an industry first for a company of burton's size, second only to never summer's crazy 4 year warranty. on that note, i'm going to get my hands on terje's landlord.

get stoked for winter guys! it's going to be the best one yet.

Their website still says 1 year.

Provide your source please.
Ive seen print ads in the new snowboard magazine that mention this 3 year warranty.

I did a quick search and it looks to be true. It's a good way to promote their channel system, good for people who destroy boards.

On another note, I believe Never Summer offers a 3 year warranty, not a 4. Unless that's something new too.

Never Summer from what I hear is very good about hooking people up even when they were negligent. Hopefully Burton will be the same.
The Channel is backed for three years. Not the whole board.

im not sure about that. i called burton rider services and they said that the entire board is guarunteed free from defects for 3 years, not just the channel. they have not updated their website yet -- it is a three year warranty.

If that really came from rider service then its done. Its a change from my initial information.
Did you talk to Clair Marie in rider service?

Also three year warranties are nothing new. Do research their chief.

its impressive considering how many boards they make wth the channel.

I think the channel is more durable than inserts. Inserts can strip or pop out, the channel hardware can that goes in the channel can be replaced easily if stripped.

Burton's three year warranty on the channel will help them emphasize its quality at little risk. Even warranty on full board for three years isn't that big a deal, I find their warranty programs very generous and the 48 hour turnaround rocks.
When was the last time you popped out an insert or even stripped one?

Never, I run 100% channel/EST.

that was impressive.
That was a smackdown... :wavetowel2:

Last time I had an insert pull out was 1992 on my first real board with metal edges. Pulled out on the first run, shop gave me a new board. It was a no name even back then...

Last time I had a girl on my dick was when my snowboard had metal edges and i plunged it into the soft folds of her pussy.

7th day of riding my new t.rice pro. t-boned a tree on the runout of a cliff drop, turned the whole deck completely camber, ripped out the inserts and had splints and pieces of wood shooting out the sidewall.. luckily got it warranteed. quite proud of that crash actually

OK, really? I don't think I'd get up from that and the first thing that would pop into my mind would be "Oh, look. I popped an insert."

obviously i didnt get straight up afterwards.. i was hurting.. i knew from the beginning my board was broken but not entirely sure how or where.. it was the end of a pow day and my ankle was in a lot of pain (kind of rolled it when both legs went either side of the tree) so i made my way down just side slipping until i made it to the cat track and rode back to the rental shop.. brushed off my board of the excess snow and immediately noticed the board was no longer rocker and could see a split through the topsheet that ran through the middle of the board. took off the bindings and sure enough the 4 inserts i was using had been ripped out and lay laying half buried in their original position and pointing out at a 45 degree angle...
