Looking for some help/advice on buying my first snowboard. Not sure about freestyle/free ride etc. I'm 5'5 and just over 11 stone. Been snowboarding a few times now.So know what I'm doing. I think lol. I just ride piste really no parks. I want a good board that is designed for what I want. Any help or advice would be great guys,

You don't really have a lot of criteria, so I'd go with an all-mountain type of board. At your height/weight (very similar to me) I'd recommend a board length of approx. 150-155. You'll get 100 different answers re what board to get, but just get any trusted brand and you should be happy. I currently ride a Capita and love it. Used to have a Rossignol and it was a well-made board, but the wrong deck for the style I prefer now. Before that (going back to the 90s now), I had a Burton board that was a faithful tank (Special 57 in case anyone is wondering lol). Lib Tech, Yes, Arbor, and Jones are all good. NeverSummer is also very good, but does seem to have a specific profile that makes people more polarized on them.

Snowboarding Profiles has good reviews IMO and is a good place to start. Angry Snowboarder also makes people lose their minds one way or the other, but I appreciate his work.

One last piece of unsolicited advice--don't skimp on boots or to a lesser extent, bindings. Medium and high end boots will make your experience so much more enjoyable. Happy riding!

Agreed, all mountain board will be your best bet. Ride Warpig/twinpig comes to mind, good reputation, reasonable price and mid range flex allows you to explore whether you lean towards parks or piste. Wide boards give you a kick start as well
