Hey everyone,

I need help in finding a board to purchase for the upcoming season. Im 17 years old 5'9 and 190. Last year was my first real year on the mountain and I had a Burton Jeremy Jones Nick Stix Custom. It was a fun beginner board. I clocked 22 days on the slopes last year and would like to say im transferring into an intermediate riding style. I found the traditional camber of my board to be limiting to new styles of riding. I'm very well in control of myself on the mountain and would say I'm a pretty confident rider, but I'm looking for an upgrade. :/

I still want to be able to bomb slopes and rip hard packed snow (typical late season New England) but I also want to develop my freestyle and park abilities a bit more. I feel I have a good foundation in both, but would like to expand, especially in regards to butter-oriented tricks (the rigidness of my board and the camber made it incredibly difficult for me). I want something a bit more on the playful side and I'm looking to stay with Burton. I have looked into the Burton Blunt, but I'm just curious what other riders would have to say about that board in particular, or if you would have any other suggestions. I'm pretty much open to anything, my price range for a deck is capped at 450$ish

are you sure you really want to go flying V? I'd go with the process off-axis (pure pop camber) over that, or go for the custom twin camber.

Just because a board is camber, by no means, makes it automatically "rigid" and not easy to butter. What camber definitely helps with is edge grip, which is definitely needed in the NE states. I don't know any burton boards, not a fan. I would definitely say don't count out camber-dominant boards in general though. I would think something with an RCR camber profile would fit perfect (i.e. Capita Mercury, DOA, Rossi Jibsaw, Slash Happy Place just to name a few).

I'm a big fan of Burton, but why limit yourself? If you have EST binding's you're wanting to continue using, the Endeavor line is another option. I'd say Process Off Axis or Endeavor Cobain would be the best fits. Name Dropper and Guerilla worth a look for something even softer.

I just got a burton custom flying v 154. Im.5 11 and 145. I was looking for an all mountain freestyle and it feels flexy enough to do butters and like itll be able to go through powder or park.

Happened to come across a couple of your other posts and you recommend it frequently. Have you ridden it before? Seemed like you were going to buy one in 2015, and Im just curious to hear your experience with it, cuz i do want one for all mtn, just not sure if its the right one for me. @dfitz364

Yeah, I owned one for the beginning of last year. I decided to land all f*cked up off of a c-rail and shattered the tail of the board. Definitely not the board's fault, was totally my fault.

As for the board, I loved the feel of it. Was maybe a tad over mid-stuff torsionally but tip to tip was right at a solid all-mountain freestyle flex. For pressing and buttering, the rockered tip and tail made a nice little platform to really lock into. Never rode it in any powder, but I am sure it would done fine. I never encountered anything that the board couldn't handle. Maybe could have been a tad damper, but that never usually bothers me.

Overall I really enjoyed this board, would definitely still have one if I could have found another my size after I broke it. When returning it, they only gave me store credit, and didn't have any left of my size anymore. Two thumbs up in my book!
