People make fun of Proto FR triple camber but I prefer it over my Lib Tech Hot Knife (C3 camber with mag) in icy conditions. It's definitely a weird board and took me a while to get used to because of the profile. I'm not a fan of Lib Tech, that Skunk Ape II is a $650 board with an extruded base.
I would suggest getting your edges sharpened first. You might just have dull edges, a year or two of 10 rides a day on icy midwestern conditions are enough to dull your edges. I think people who are lucky enough to ride real snow don't realize how quickly ice can dull your edges.
Where are you at? I'm in SE Wisconsin, I also have a 159w Lib Tech Hot Knife I'm growing tired of. But I'd try sharpening those edges at a good shop before you buy a new board or anything.
