I had an end of season deal on Union Atlas. I got the bindings 12 days ago and already put 5 days on them. To my shocking surprise the double washers started to corrode. Anyone else having the same issue?
One of my 2021 Atlas washers started to corrode (maybe half as much as the one in your photo) and left rust stains. I have 8 or 9 days on it. It looks like poor quality control in the plating process.
Just to clarify, these are the washers that attach the bindings to the board, correct? If so grab a set of after market ones along with a new set of screws that match your insert pack's dimensions
The all-new Union Camber disk adds a small amount of camber to the mounting disk to help keep your mounting hardware tight all season long. Compatible with 2x4, 4x4 and The Channel board mounting systems. Set includes 2 disks. Compatible with the following Union Bindings: Atlas FC Atlas Force...
I got a reply from my dealer that this is not corrosion but just oxidation. The washers were shipped to the dealer without anodizing treatments which actually protect the metal against oxidation. They assured me this shouldn't be a problem.
I have no clue if all the camber disk washers come without anodizing or this is just a faulty batch but I guess many will suffer the same problem. I cleaned them to an acceptable state. The rust does not spread any further and for now I am confident they wont cause me any headaches.
Alright, I truly hope we can keep their words for it.
