Hello,

I recently purchased a 2012-2013 Burton Custom X 158, I have 11.5 Burton Ambush boots and large Cartel bindings (apparently mediums wouldn't fit very well, according to Burton staff). Anyway, the board says it's okay for large bindings, so I thought 'no problem' when I purchased it. Anyway, I got into riding essentially on my own, so I don't really know a great deal about how to set up bindings or even boarding in general, and don't really have anyone to talk to about it. I'd guess I'd call myself an intermediate(ish) rider, and can handle most terrain, do the occasional jump and so on. Anyway, I was riding a Custom flying V last season, which I love, but I wanted a quiver board that was something I could grow into; more of a challenge, faster and better on hardpack.

So, after sifting through some of the threads on the Custom X I found this thread, which gave me some concern -> http://www.snowboardingforum.com/tips-tricks-snowboard-coaching/44593-burton-custom-x-riding-issues.html

I saw that some people had issues with an earlier version of the Custom X not catching the heel side edge well when used with large bindings, has this been resolved? If any of you have any advice on how to best dial in this deck, I'd really appreciate it. I'm 6" and weight 176lbs, I'm mainly interested in carving at high speeds...
