I bought a snowboard in the fall and after two days of riding I noticed some surprising and disappointing damage. The top layer of my snowboard, heel edge and between my bindings is peeling. What causes this? Is there a good repair I should get done? Thanks for the advice and help! Hood Automotive design Sleeve Eyewear Grey

I bet that happened when you were skating around one footed.

I'd file off that damage and get the topsheet flush again. You can seal it with epoxy if you want. I use West Marine G-flex.

Yeah, the location and length are very well-defined, which would indicate it's the result of something specific. Skating is as good a possibility as any.
What @WigMar said. It helps using some masking tape so the epoxy doesn't run excessively and you get a clean-ish line.
Yeah, skating or lift line ish related damage. Echo what the others said re epoxy.

That's a good tip. I definitely should have done that for a few things... Made a big mess trying to cut off epoxy after the fact lol.
Nothing to be disappointed about. Every snowboard looks like that after a few days, it's inevitable. But yes, to try and delay it, don't bump your board in to other peoples boards or skis in the lift line because that's EXACTLY what causes it.
