Well after countless hours of research and drooling over heaps of sexy looking gear I've ordered my new setup for the upcoming season. PUUUUMPED! :yahoo:

Ended up going with a 157 Proto HD and Burton Genesis bindings. I'm banking on this lasting me a couple of seasons, otherwise the wife's gonna shoot me

I don't get to pick it up until early December once we get to the US but it's nice to know it's sitting there waiting.

Got some fantastic service from the guys at Salty Peaks in SLC by the way. It makes such a difference when you get a little help, particularly if ordering from the other side of the world (literally).

Looking good!

No reason why this shouldn't last you for a few seasons. Solid choices all around.
oh man that setup will never work! you are so horsefucked!
^ agreed you should give it away to the first person you see in UT

Hahaha. Fuck off, both of you. :giggle:
Great choices, especially with the color scheme.
Sweet board, cool bindings.

If you truly want I can pick it up and have some fresh wax on it for you.

After I"ve used it for a few weeks to make sure you'll like it
I'm jealous, that's the set up that I want for this season!
Solid set up. That is pretty awesome of Salty Peaks to do that too. I always knew they were a solid shop. This sort of thing will make sure I visit them and spend a little coin there next time I am in Utah.

I've got that same outerwear!

Sounds like a good shop with some solid CS. Although you might want to have a word with the guy that sold you the outer wear! (...The colors all wrong for the bindings you bought! Never mix pastels!!!) ;)

I truly do not want. Thanks for the offer though, you guys are just pure gentlemen, the lot of ya! :sarcasm:

Oh really? I thought the green sequins would go nicely with the green machines. Ah well bugger it.

In all seriousness I shot one or two emails back and forth with a guy there and by the end of it we had it all sorted. It's nice to find a place that actually helps out. We'll drop plenty more $$$ while there on tuning gear, goggles, base layers etc that I can't be bothered carting all the way from Australia. I was thinking of finding all of that stuff online beforehand to save a few bucks but now I'll just go to these guys instead regardless of whether they've got the best price or not.
great looking setup that will last well past a "couple years"

enjoy it in good health!
I have been to Salty Peaks many times while in Utah nice shop. I almost got the Proto HD while I was there last season but just didn't want to come off the dough when I already had 3 boards with me. They also do trade in's and they also have the new Never Summer boards before most shops.
Same exact setup that i'll be on this season except i'll be using last years genesis! Can't wait to get some snow. You'll love the bindings, used them all last year. By far the most comfortable bindings i have used.

Gotta make sure you run over dirt, rocks and pebbles to get some structure in the base.

That's how everyone does it.

Salty Peaks ... every time I see them mentioned I think of sweaty nipples (female of course .... lest any of you get the wrong idea).

Curious, how much would something like that cost you in AU with conversion rate.
The Aussie dollar is sitting around 94c to the US dollar at the moment so the conversion rate isn't too bad. However we tend to pay through the teeth over here because we've got grossly enormous taxes for everything from beer to pre-op transvestite hookers.

Aussie shops have the proto had for $829.99. 2013 genesis bindings are still going for $449, I couldn't even find the 2014s online after a quick search. Bottom line -don't come here for a bargain.
