I purchased this board back in 06 and used it for 1 season. Did not like it at the time. I wonder if they still make boards with all these little grooves on the base? Seems pointless lol

Those grooves on the base are a play on the idea of base structure, which helps prevent suction of a flat/smooth base against particularly wet snow. The big dimples are kind of goofy though, a traditional deeper base structure makes more sense.

There may be some Forum collectors out there who would shell out the extra money for one of those.

I had the Peter Line model from that same yer which also had the dimpled base. Can't remember if it did help much but I loved that board at the time

The little dimples are called StructTurn and they came from the GST snowboard factory (RIP). It was positioned as an alternative to stone ground bases as it worked better in more varied conditions. I had that same board in either the 159 or 161 size and LOVED it. One of the most fun boards I ever owned. I do remember it being really fast in wet/slushy snow, but other than that I didn't really notice the StructTurn base.

Thats cool! I do remember it riding well in bad weather, it was just too stiff for me at the time. I was probably 130 lbs when i was riding it.
