Forum Jeremy Jones weird binding inserts

Hey all,

Just picked up a cheap old Forum Jeremy Jones to use as my rock board for the start of the NZ winter season. It has what appears to be a double channel system for the binding inserts, something i've never seen before.

As you can see in the picture below, the screw holes move independently inside the channel. Is this supposed to happen normally and they stay in place with bindings screwed in or is it missing a vital bit of kit?

Why do I think this might have been a prototype of discontinued tech, damn bong resin and malted hops clogging up my brain. Mid 2000s I think
Early 2000's if memory serves. Capita tried it too. Not bad, not good. Honestly it'd make better wall art than snowboard...

considering the crack running horizontally along the tip, i don't it'll last the first week of the season before it kicks the bucket! ;) edges are rusted to shit and the base is beyond scratching post bad as well, can't expect much more out of a $30 board.

just dug out a pair of bindings and chucked them on, they seems to be locked in place pretty firm, i s'pose i'll find out come june...
Ah locking freedom groove. Be prepared for the track to slide when bindings are mounted.
