OKay so I have had my eyes one the 2014 billy goat.

Thing is I don't like this tucked in edge bull crap. A fully wrapped edge seems a lot more sturdy. Although my K2 is fairly dinged up.

I have a sale coming up this weekend and I want to know opinions. BG? or another board similar for and all mountain rider?

you should see what it looks like when a fully wrapped board gets puckered from a hit in the nose, usually causes the tip to delam.

or check out the smokin kt22

Unless you go around slamming your nose and tail into: rocks, trees, the ground, people in line it doesn't make a difference. Even if you do these things it still doesn't make a difference as the damage is cosmetic and easily repairable. I personallly have a gnu with 100+ days and minimal damage and a lib with no tip/tail damage after 75 days or so.

There are pros and cons to a full wrap v. tucked, but at the end of the day a full wrap provides minimally more protection so get the board you want. Remember a full edge wrap does not protect your topsheet from dipshits in line.

Pretty much all of that. And remember that the Mervin boards (like many others) have plastic noses and tails, i.e., no core that could delam in the tips.

hey thanks for the replies!

so the bumper tech thing actually works?

there seems to be a lot of Mervin board haters so I am never sure what to believe.
Don't want to waste my hard earned cash if my board doesn't last a season!

Every brand has it's haters. Remember it's the vocal minority that receive the most notice and bitch the loudest. Happy customers may post a review or their experience, but usually don't (because they are getting what they expected from the product). If every brand was as terrible, (other than those that are truely terrible) as peopla make them out to be they wouldn't still be around. That's not to say there won't be defects, but quality brands tend to stand behind their products.
