Looking to buy a new board to replace my Salomon Dancehaul 147. I love this board and will keep it but looking to try something new. I'm 5'8" 175, size 9.5 boots experienced rider that likes riding groomers, powder, trees, side hits, transitions and up to medium park jumps. I don't ride fast and prefer riding switch, carving, and freestyle. I ride the east coast in N-NY and VT, so i am open to edge tech as well.

I'm considering a few boards but am open to suggestions.

Burton Skeleton Key XX 150 (i can get a great deal on this)
Arbor Satori
Bataleon Whatever Beyond Medals
Ride Warpig/Superpig
K2 Party Platter

Thanks for your feedback.

The Whatever is fun but not the greatest in terms of edge hold on firm snow. Skeleton key is awesome is well but not so much for freestyle. Others that come to mind that I’ve enjoyed: Jones Mountain Twin or Aviator 2.0, Yes the Greats or Warca, Rome Stale Cruiser.

I had a great 3 seasons on my party platter in southern VT. Its fantastic in the tight trees and floated me well enough at 170 lbs on the 147. Something about k2 sidecuts grips very well in the conditions we get over here. I found it to be a great turner so long as you didnt expect it to handle like something its not, but plenty fun to eurocarve and generally misbehave on - It adds a feeling of levity to free riding. Obviously it rides park well enough too.

I found it to be an awesome board for shooting around Magic Mountain going literally wherever I wanted - then bonking through the park on my way to the lift. If you're familiar with Magic then you'll understand that this board is far more capable than the marketing suggests.

i would check out the k2 passport if you want to get another directional board. id go slightly bigger as the volume shift isnt as much as the dancehaul, so a 150cm. board rips, floats, holds great in the shitty conditions, cuts quick, super stable, but its very manageable to load up the camber profile and if you really try hard you can get some nose presses down
