Been riding 15+ years, about 1-4 weekend trips per year- I consider myself to be advanced (although when I eat it I feel less advanced) on natural features but a beginner/intermediate in the park. I'm just starting to hit the jumps and am just getting comfortable with fakie. I want to keep working on that area. I'm 43, 6'0" 175lbs and in pretty good shape- surf and run a lot.

My current setup is a 2010 164 wide Burton Custom-X, with flow bindings and 11.5 flow hylite boots.

I love the boots and bindings, but they suck on the burton because the bindings need a special adapter to work with burtons ICS system. It just doesn't work well.

So 164 is too long for me, that and the bindings constantly getting loose is prompting a new board hunt.

I was looking at the lib tech hot knife in a 159... but maybe I should be looking at a 156? What size should I be looking for and should I be looking for a wide?

Any other specific recommendations for 40% park, 60% everywhere else?

I'd take a good look into the Arbor Coda, K2 Turbo Dream, Yes Greats, Flow Rush, Rome Mod Rocker, or a Nitro Team Gullwing.

If you're looking to just improve your park skills but All mountain is going to remain your focus then shoot for 58ish sizes. If you want to be transfering more to a park focus shoot for 55ishes.

+1 for the Rome Mod Rocker, especially if you like jumps (the hot rods make ollie-ing easy as hell). It's also stiff enough to handle aggressive all-mountain riding including ungroomed crud that you invariably run into.

i'm 5'9", 155lb and I ride a 153cm Rome Mod Rocker, so with your extra 20 points the extra few cm that Nivek pointed out sounds about right.

The mod rocker looks nice!

Question- there's a 159 which is 255 waist and then the 158W which is 263.

With 11.5 boots (flow hylites) which should I go for?

Niche Aether is a really rad board for all mountain freestyle for someone with your foot size
Interesting! It looks like it has the same rocker shape as the hot knife I was looking at. I'm guessing you were referring to the 158MW for my foot size?

Sucks having 11.5 boots :(
