As soon as he was headed for that rock outcropping I was sure he was breaking bones. That was a lot of ass over tea kettle on that one!

Haha. That was an epic fall. Couldn't decide if I should laugh or be worried.

Reminds me of American Idol. People who think they can sing but can not. You should always know you're limitations.

Shit!!! I thought that was you or your kid at first!!!! I was thinking, Holy Fuck!!!!! Glad to see it's just some random YT clip.

Still, definitely a pretty Epic Fail on that one!!! Wonder how steep that was that even in what looked like fairly deep snow, he couldn't get slowed down n stopped! Lol!

Yep! I never understood people like this. When I was learning (and when I still try to do new things) I always make sure I have the requisite base skill. That dude probably couldn't even do a long green run; he's still doing the fallen-leaf pattern.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!? I've been on Polar Peak a few times, I've been boarding for 20+ years. I still get a little butterfly when I head up there.

This is the view from the lift heading up there: This is after all the signs saying "EXTREME CAUTION, EXPERTS ONLY, NO EASY WAY DOWN"

Here's the hut at the top: You sort of feel like you're on the moon at this point.

The one entrance to the area he fell down: I saw people have to heelslide through this entrance and just shook my head.

The view about 1/3rd of the way down the easiest run off the peak. It's a good 40 degrees, everything centre and left in this pic is a cliff band (with a couple "cliff" signs advising you of impending death")

You should NOT be riding polar peak unless you're SURE you can handle it, and even then it can be very tough unless conditions are perfect. :dunno: Don't people learn to board with people that have some experience?!? What were they thinking???

I love people who buy all this fancy equipment for a new sport/hobby but have obviously never done it before.

That was pretty damn funny.

Reminds me of this silly skier.

Man...when I saw he was heading for the opposite, "side less travelled" lol, I think I had that pitting feeling in MY stomach. Like, ohhhhhhhhh shit...

Holy hell, that's incredible. I kept thinking to myself "how much further can he go?!?"

It looked like early on if he had made any kind of effort to arrest his fall (instead of just laying back and relaxing) most of that carnage could have been avoided. This video reminds me of the one posted last season of the noob on the long skier's left traverse that goes over the rock and cliff on hardpack.

If those were his friends with him, that managed to keep up with him as he slid down, they are assholes for taking him up there. And/or he's a dumbass.

It looked like he was with that other boarder and the skiers just happened to be on their way down close to where he stopped. The tones in their voices seemed concerned and didn't call him by name.
This is making it's rounds on FB as well.

OK on a serious note. I've never been to a real mountain and of course don't want to get in over my head. If that kind of slide did happen how do you stop??? I imagine if on your back trying to kick the board or bending your knees to force the edge to act as a brake? Spin to the front or your belly?? All seems easier said than done during the moment.
