Not sure if this is the right spot, but I've been kicking around looking at some used boards and occasionally bindings, I'm wondering if there is an easy way to figure out the year? Obviously I'm assuming the owner doesn't know, and I can't find it on a quick google. It seems that most the vendor website don't have way of searching their old gear... Any thought or help?

Take a picture and post it here? I'm sure somebody will recognize the board(s) and at least be able to identify an era at the least.

Outside of that...and I'm spitballing here...get a serial number if there's one engraved in the deck? Not sure exactly what you'd do with it but maybe take it/call the company?

This is one I was looking at...

It's a K2 Disicple for $250 that he claims was never ridden. I'm wondering why he'd mount used Lamar bindings on board that's $600 new.

But I'm hoping there's a trick or technique that some of the vets here know, so I don't have to post every item I find... I don't want to be a pain in the ass.

Just google image search the board name and size and then follow the right picture and within one or two you'll find the year listed in the text. It's not foolproof but works with a little trial and error.

For burton the vault works quite well.

I'll try it. I've never done a google image search before.

:blink::blink::blink:

Google image search changed my life. I kid you not. About 95% of the pics I post here are found with the google image search, it's great for researching things, and as far as porn goes...:blink::blink: :D

crazysnowboarder is one of the best, K2 Disciple Freestyle Reviews is good too

There is one place though, that I can pretty much GUARANTEE that someone will have the info you're looking for.
"Vintage Snowboard Trader" It's a group on Face book, with just shy of 700 members. Most of which are of the "old school" variety.

It was started by none other than "Polemite". aka, the guy who broke into the "Red Bull SuperNatural" who now has probably the best collection of signed vintage decks, with pics of himself, the boards & said pros.
On the planet:bowdown:

Post a pic up, & in under an hour, you should have an answer.

I'm a bit of a wheeler & dealer(surprise:giggle:surprise) In the vintage snowboard market, last week I sent 5 boards to Winnterpeg & probably 2 more in the next day or two.

There's money to be made in Them Thar Hills

Image search is the only way, if that doesn't work, VST.

Anybody knows a site with a list of F2 boards? I'm looking for an F2 Flame.
Dont have a pic of the board I'm searching, try to find out the exact year/size.
Google search for pics got me a board from 93/94 with the same graphics:

But mine had a black background, writings in yellow/teal-greenish. Might have been an other size?

I have used Snowboard and ski catalog SnowDB.com a lot.

They were flying in the beginning and I even emailed them images of Gnu and Lib boards that they did not have, saying they were going to add them, but I don't think they ever did.

I almost wish I could take it from them so I could keep updating it.

I don't know how you ended up with that?:dunno:

When I search on google, then click on images, the whole top row is all snowboards.
That chick isn't anywhere to be found:icon_scratch:

Join that Facebook group, & post pics up there. It's got 700 people.

I've been snowboarding for 25 years, & thought I'd seen them all.
Almost daily, someone will post up one I've never seen.

I've yet been able to stump them & I usually post up @ least a couple a day.

This was one of yesterdays boards.
