DUST! Holy shit at the dust in the air as this front has rolled through. I'm just across I-70 from Floyd Hill and took the dog for a quick walk and I could barely even see Floyd Hill which is probably only about 2 miles as the crow flies.

Just when you think snow conditions couldn't get any shittier... :(

I may have jumped the gun on the dust. Not really hearing any other reports of dust, but sure looked like dust to me. Snowing in Summit/Eagle right now. Not another storm in sight on the 7-10 day. This may be a one storm March and it's not coming in favorable for Summit/Eagle.

Still, if it's 4" or more on the AM reports, I'm taking a sick day. Haven't had a decent day in over two weeks and not another good day in sight. Get it while the gettin's good.

No dust up here but windy as a motherfucker earlier. Snowed for 30 minutes pretty hard and stopped. Drive to wolf creek tomorrow, if I could board I would.

Yeah, we got that wind from about 3-4pm or so. It's been snowing at Loveland for the last 2 hours per their webcams.

It just came a quick squall here.

The front just passed I do believe. It got really dark, windy, snowed hard for a few minutes with low hanging clouds and now pretty much clear.

It started snowing again and coming down hard. I could see that the top of the mtn looked to be getting snow the whole time we were at local joes chomping pizza.

It looks like shaving cream hitting the ground. If it's a significant amount by tomorrow I'm gonna ride for the first time in over 2 months.....

A buddy and mine are coming to Vail the 24-31, and we cant change our plans due to we booked an non-refundable hotel room for the week. But we had thought about renting a car for a couple days and heading to Wolf Creek if conditions dont improve at Vail(the 10 day outlook looks bleak). How is the drive from Vail to Wolf Creek? Looked online and it looks to be about a 4 1/2 hour drive. Also is there any where to rent cars in Vail(we booked CME already from DIA to Vail and back)? Hotel rooms look pretty cheap mid week in WC so I wouldnt mind dropping the extra dough to get a couple nice days in.

On a clear day it's a 3.5 hour drive to WC from vail. I've driven down a few times early season. In a storm it took me 4 hours.

I live right by the NREL wind research station, so I can view live read outs of the wind conditions here, not terrible yet, not the 86 mph we had a week or two ago... Wind blows! (har har)

On another note, just spent the weekend at sol vista, snow report claims they have a 30" base, but I think that '0' is a bit misleading....if it isn't hard ice, it was dirt, rocks, and itty bitty sprouting trees...sigh...

Have you ever been to vail?
Thanks for the Enterprise info. I've stayed in Vail once before and my family goes to Beaver Creek every year in January and we always try to ride a day or 2 at Vail that week as well. Staying at Evergreen Lodge this trip.

It's nothing to get too exited about today. Vail is reporting 5" but Breck had only 2" over night. Abasin got virtually nothing.

Yep, the storm pretty much skunked us, as was expected. It was a long shot at best for us.

Not another storm in sight through next weekend. March is a bust. Shittiest March ever. It's supposed to get really warm. Instead of having peak snow conditions, we've been steadily losing snow coverage pretty much since the end of February. Un-fucking-real.

Ended up cancelling CME and renting a car through Enterprise at DIA(Was alot cheaper than CME also). We have tentative plans to get up early Wednesday and head to WC and come back that night provided conditions at Vail dont improve(which by the weather outlook they dont appear to). Coming all this way I have to ride in at least some powder one day...lol.
