Hi guys, I have a set of medium bindings and I think they are slightly undersized due to the fact that heelcup is all the way back and i have more toe overhang.

but also it's a tight fight with the boot at the heel, i.e. the heel almost gets stuck right at the back, the binding sort of clamps it (clamp is exaggerated, there is a bit of interference)

My question is would a large binding be wider in that heel area, or is it supposed to be really snug

Ya, generally a larger binding has a wider base when compared to a medium. The only instance I can think of is those shitty Rossignol bindings that can extend the heelcup back and supposedly "fit sizes 7-13". Stupid.

Generally speaking yes, the binding chassis will be wider on a larger size, from forefoot to heelcup, whether it's metal/plastic or monocoque/multi-piece.
