Six days ago on Sunday, I went boarding for the fourth time! :D The second hardest thing I've done that day was the terrain park. I decided to start out small by going on those huge snow bumps they made to figure out how fast I'd be going. My skier friend basically dragged me into the lift line that goes to the three terrain park hills, which freaked me out. And for some reason, I'm not too good at skidded turns! I've compensated for that by making super tight and close linked turns to spend as much time traversing and facing up or down the hill as possible to slow down. This got me to the black diamond, which is good because I went with my skier friend. I used to ski all over the black diamond and on jumps with her and my other friends. When first starting skiing, we both were about 10 and she fell all the time, so I might've made fun of her a bit... I didn't know how much harder it was, okay? xD Anyways, she went three times, about 3 or 4 years ago. After lunch and seeing that even I, the uncoordinated one of our friends, could board on the black diamond, she decided to switch to a board rental right after lunch. So I've been boarding only 4 times. I'm 13 years old. Teaching her how to snowboard again was very funny :) From my first day, I watched other people's lessons to learn how to snowboard a bit (which didn't really help me much). I remembered how the instructors would do a toeside sidelip while holding their student's hands when teaching them to heelside sideslip. Funniest. Thing. Ever! It worked out decently, despite my fear of doing it. I confess, I've never done a toeside sideslip in my life... How I didn't fall down at all I may never know. At the end of the day she was able to somewhat get down the green hill. Btw- I live in northern Illinois with only small resorts nearby (Wilmot and Alpine Valley if you've heard of them) and the runs are smaller. Up north, I'd never get to the black diamond I bet. I've never been there myself, but my friend's skiing dad told us. Depressing, right? :/ Thank you for the past tips! I got a bit off track, so help with progressing to jumps and slower skidded AND non-skidded turns?

Thanks! I'll try that next time :) Don't worry about the sideslipping thing, that's only teaching my friend on the bunny hill. Now I try not to at all, because my first 2 times I had a terrible habit of sideslipping down everything xD
