Hey guys, new member here so let me introduce myself with my stats first.

I'm 5'11 and I float between 170 and 177 lbs never going above or under. My bare foot measurement is 10.75 inches or 26.305 cm. My boot sizes vary from 10-11 depending on the boot make and model. My current boots are made by Forum and are a size 10.

I like to cruise the mountains and work on some flat tricks. I am not into jumps or the park because I can't risk taking too hard of a fall.

After tons of searching on this site and shopping at my local store, I came home with a new Never Summer Legacy in 159cm.

So what does the brain trust say? Does the Legacy sound like it is the right size for me?

Thanks in advance and any help is greatly appreciated.

You didn't need a wide board. The Legacy is just a wider SL. For just cruising and flat tricks you would've been better off with an Evo out of the NS lineup, but the Legacy will still work. You've already bought it now. Quit worrying about it and ride it.

But wait, if you haven't ridden it, I'd return it. You definitely don't need a wide.

Thank you very much for the help I really appreciate it. I'll go back and get a regular width board.

It's overwhelming trying to keep up with all the different makes and models and leave with the right board.

I'll check out the evo also. I didn't look at it at first because on the Never Summer web site it says the evo is for park and pipe.

For your riding style I'd also recommend the SL over the Proto and Evo.

And also the the regular width SL over the wide Legacy.

Man, thanks a lot guys!

Living down here is S.Florida makes it impossible to demo anything and having this resource for feedback is awesome!

I'll trade it in for the SL. I am thinking the 158.

MysticFalcon, my GF and I will actually be heading to Jay Peak for the first time in March. We're really looking forward to it.

If you're close to 180 and you want to rip the whole mountain I'd go with the 158. I'm about 5lbs heavier and that's what I ride.

I'm 185lbs and I ride a 158 SL even in pow. I think he'll be okay on a 155 for cruising since its so damp anyways, and it'll be easier to do flat ground tricks on the 155

If you're really just cruising the evo is fine, can be taken around quite a bit, and would be easier to do tricks. If you're going to go pretty fast then yeah the Evo will start to yap a bit.
