Hello everybody. I am set on the Never Summer Proto HDX, but i cannot find it on sale (didn't really expect to either because it's this years model). What are the differences between the CTX and the HDX. Are these difference big enough for me to wait for the HDX to go on sale? Or should I get a CTX on sale for $350? Thanks in advance.

You should get the Flow Era for over $100 cheaper and it's better...

Straight up I haven't ridden the HD. I can't imagine it made that much of a difference to warrant someone choosing it over the old one. Is it better? Maybe, but the CT is still considered very good. It's the case of good getting just a little bit better. If this were next year and it was a $20 difference between the '13 and '14 then yeah '14. But the HD is not $200 better than the CT if you have access to the CT.

Either way I don't think it lives up to the hype or it's price tag, just sayin.

The HDX is a great board, but you probably can't go wrong with either one. I haven't ridden a CTX to compare, but I do know that it is a little bit stiffer and snappier than the CTX. The HD stands for Harmonic Dampening, and that is the big difference that you will notice. The HDX cuts through crud without you feeling every little hard bump in the snow. It's a smooth ride.

In general people that like CRC boards should really give a gander at Flow's line. You wind up with the same board as a lot of other companies for $20-100 less.
