I always see people on here talking about how NS boards are far-and-away the best boards you can get. What is it about them that makes them so superior to all other boards?

their construction, uses multiple layers of thin glass instead of the industry standard of one thicker piece, it is also preinpregnated with the resin, and pre tensioned. Made in house in low numbers, by people who care, signal and mervin are the only others that also do. Great deal for the price they charge.

And that whole 3-year warranty thing. NS is blowing-up. They will be Burton in 10-years. *ducks for cover*

I don't think NS wants to "blow up". The only boards I've seen that I would put in NS's league as far as build goes is Smokin Snowboards. Arbor deserves a mention as well, but I don't think they're as bombproof as the other 2.

NS is getting more and more name recognition. It will be interesting to see how they manage that over time.

Increase numbers so they can sell more to meet demand? But hopefully that wont change their method of construction of their boards.

mentioning neversummer on these forums is like calling for a circlejerk in a gay bathhouse.

other snowboard companies have excellent products as well, which are just as good as or better than neversummer.

Haha we will have to take your word for that!

I must admit I bought a never summer sl after reading a lot of reviews of the ns range and although I havent had a chance to ride it yet due to no snow in australia atm I can tell you that I am very impressed with the build quality. Compared to my 08/09 burton supermodel the never summer sl just screams quality.

They do have a lot of recognition from places outside this forum...

That said when i was looking for a new board 2 years ago i had never heard of them. Came here, did some research, read BA & Shayboarder's reviews, and found a good deal locally so i took the 400+ dollar plunge and hoped for the best(coming off a LTD Peak ghetto board)... got my 09 SL-R and dont regret it one bit...

Other companies have products that are good yes, but i think once you deal with/meet the NS guys it really sinks in. They really do care what the average rider thinks, hense why you see all the reviews for their 2011 stuff here on this forum.

Its nice to support the little(r) guy. Although as you mentioned NS is blowing up pretty big and i have seen a lot more NS boards this year in Oregon than i saw last year...but then again maybe im just more familiar with the line and topsheets so i notice it more in lift lines :)

I have hit numerous rocks on my board and all i have to show for it are some gouges along the bottom, never made it through the base though...just some indentation. When i went up to a local mountain Mt Bachelor during christmas a "pro" skier friend of mine had us following him..no joke we got to the top of this lip off the groom and it was rocks galore with tree's and shit all over...i hit(felt) atleast 2 rock hits and clipped a tree sapling stump pretty hard on my edge the entire time on the way down thinking "Fuck there goes this board"...other than a few mild gouges down the length there's nothing else wrong with it.

Meh, personal experience thus far has left me doubting all the NS quality talk.

My defective board is going to be fixed at no charge (normally not a warranty repair per the factory) lol, ... not sure how they can take this stance when all I did was ride it for half day on green groomers.. even the manager at the store I bought it from stated it was obviously I didn't hit/smash/bash it... there's just no evidence of any edge tinking. Just a bump on my base.

I would have to say this was just a defective board from the start that didn't produce the visible signs until it was subjected to cold, weight, riding, etc.

More to come.

I have to visit the factory. Luckily I'm 20 minutes away..I would be really unhappy if I had to pay the shipping to get it there ... which is the policy.

You say it's getting fixed at no charge, so what's the problem?
