I've been getting a lot of helpful advice lurking around here the last few days. After reading many reviews and talking to folks at shops in Tahoe, I decided to get a Never Summer LS 153 with Rome Targas bindings.

I learned on a Burton Air 5.5 in the early 90s and rode that board to death (when I was still in good shape). Then "upgraded" to a Custom 158 in 2001 which I always struggled with. Too stiff, too hard to initiate turns, not that great in powder, but DAMN fine at carving. Just too aggressive a board for someone that doesn't get up to the mountains often.

Anyway, I wanted a good all mountain board that was a little easier to ride. I'm looking forward to giving this one a spin. This will be the first time I've ridden anything other than a traditional camber board.
